Job Description
NDI seeks an intern with strong website maintenance and design skills to assist the Citizen Participation Team during the 2011 summer with updating and designing its internal web-based portal site. Responsibilities include:
- Participating in the iterative process of improving the Citizen Participation Theory of Change Map
- Creating Articulate e-learning modules based on one-pagers and other written materials, as well as existing slideshows and presentations
- Maintaining the portal site (i.e., uploading documents and working to ensure links are kept up to date)
- Portal-related troubleshooting
- Handling logistics of getting materials translated into Spanish, Arabic and French
Required Skills
- Experience working with e-learning software
- Experience maintaining websites
- Experience working with the Microsoft Office suite – especially powerpoint
- Ability to work independently and with others in a fast-paced office
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Required Experience
- Availability through December 2011
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
- Demonstrated interest in international issues related to democratic transitions and the role of civil society in promoting democratic reform
- Proficiency in a second language is a plus
