I. Organizational Context

Under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative in Indonesia, the general supervision of the Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases Operations (ECTAD) Program Team Leader in Indonesia and under the direct supervision of the Chief Technical Advisor for Control Implementation and System Development; the incumbent will carry out duties, in close consultation and coordination with members of the ECTAD Indonesia team, FAO Representation office staff, government counterparts, donors, and implementing partners:

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. II. Functions / Key Results Expected
Main responsibility: 
The incumbent will be responsible for providing support to the FAO ECTAD Indonesia management team to liaise with relevant central/local government counterparts to provide technical supervision of field activities under the ECTAD Indonesia Program, with a focus on implementation of ECTAD Indonesia program activities in Bali, including activities in support of rabies control.
Specific responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the ECTAD Indonesia management team and relevant central/local government counterparts on implementation of ECTAD Indonesia program activities in Bali, including activities in support of rabies control;
  • Establish contact and working arrangements with appropriate staff of the Ministry of Agriculture and other local government departments/divisions and organizations for ECTAD
  • Indonesia program activities in Bali, including activities in support of rabies control;
  • Monitor field activities and data collection, as required, for ECTAD Indonesia program activities in Bali, including activities in support of rabies control;
  • Assist relevant central/local government counterparts in organizing meetings, workshops, and trainings in relation to ECTAD Indonesia program activities in Bali, including activities in support of rabies control;
  • Provide Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reports/updates of work carried out;
  • Contribute to regular ECTAD and donor reports as necessary; and
  • Perform other duties as required

Required Skills and Experience

V. Recruitment Qualifications

Education:

  • University degree in veterinary science
Experience:
  • Experience in the implementation of activities under national transboundary animal disease control programmes;
  • Knowledge of transboundary animal health diseases including avian influenza and rabies;
  • Experience in liaisoning with international, governmental or similar organizations;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
Language Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of English;
Good communication skills both oral and written
