TE CARE JOB: CHNICAL ADVISOR - SEXUAL, REPRODUCTIVE & MATERNAL HEALTH, ATLANTA, GA

Description
CARE is seeking an experienced SRMH Technical Advisor TO provide key programmatic, technical and research support for sexual, reproductive and maternal health activities in the Unit. Specifically, this position will be the key technical advisor for the Maternal Health Alliance Project. Responsibilities will include project design and development, development of evaluation protocols and measures, analysis of data, and report writing. This position will also lead coordination of the Alliance Project partners, including coordinating communication and ensuring work progresses as planned and in full collaboration with all external stakeholders (UN, CDC and others). This position will also be the primary technical assistance provider and backstop for the country offices and regional staff involved in this initiative. Skills in surveillance and data use, quality improvement methodologies, community-based research, evaluation research, data analysis, writing, project management and communications are central to the position.

Required:
 
  • Masters or Doctoral level in public health, epidemiology, or behavioral/social sciences.
  • 5-7 years experience in a relevant position
  • Experience implementing health related program evaluation in developing world contexts
  • Experience in surveillance, epidemiology, quality improvement and/or data analysis and use
  • Experience in partnership building 
  • At least 3 years working in or with a developing country
  • Strong background in health and development
  • Knowledge of epidemiological methods, behavior and social science theories and concepts, and program evaluation
  • Strong skills in research design and implementation
  • Evidence of excellent writing skills (e.g. publication record)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats
  • English proficiency
  • Proficiency in WORD, Excel, powerpoint and SPSS or SAS or STATa
 
Desired:
 
  • Doctoral level degree in one of above fields
  • Experience with implementation research
  • Clinical experience in reproductive, maternal, newborn or child health
  • Strong background in SRMH
  • Clinical expertise in reproductive, maternal, newborn or child health
  • Advanced knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and analysish
 
Duration: Full time
Location: Atlanta, GA
Expected Travel Percentage: 25%
Language Requirement: Proficiency in French, Spanish or another non-English language
