VICE-PRESIDENT (OPERATIONS)
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) has a great opportunity for a Vice-President (Operations) (VP (O) who has a serious interest in making a difference in transforming Caribbean economies through the effective use of development financing and the provision of policy advice to promote sustainable economic growth and regional integration.
CDB is a multilateral Development Bank that collaborates with its Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs) to promote sustainable social and economic development, economic cooperation and regional integration.

The Role

Reporting directly to the President, the VP (O) will guide CDB’s strategic and operational engagement with its Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs). The VP (O) is responsible for the Operations Area which comprises the following two departments:

· Projects Department – accountable for the pipeline and portfolio of capital and technical assistance projects, and is responsible for all stages of the project cycle, including project identification, appraisal, implementation and supervision in all sectors; and

· Economics Department – accountable for the development and conduct of the Bank’s programmes regarding macro-economic operations and structural adjustment lending; monitoring and analysis of economic, social and political developments in BMCs and relevant international sectors; the formulation of country strategies to optimise financial and technical assistance; and training in national economic management.

Candidates must be a national of one of CDB’s Borrowing Member Countries. The successful candidate should have an advanced degree in business, economics, public policy or equivalent, and have significant relevant technical experience, a sound understanding of development financing and a proven track record of successful leadership. A strong and positive reputation with the ability to build and maintain credibility within and outside of CDB is required. The position is at the CDB’s headquarters which is located in Barbados..
