The Black Sea Trade & Development Bank (BSTDB) with Headquarters in Thessaloniki/Hellenic Republic is currently seeking an experienced Senior Banker for the Energy & Infrastructure Department.
The BSTDB was established by 11 member states (Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece, Moldova, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine) focusing on supporting economic development and regional cooperation. The BSTDB is providing trade and project financing, guarantees, and equity for development projects in the public and private sector of its member states.

Background/General description
Under the guidance and supervision of the Director, Energy and Infrastructure, the Senior Banker, is responsible for transactions in both private and public sectors related to energy and infrastructure sector, ensuring high quality of work, accurate, timely and properly recorded/documented service delivery, including achievement of budget qualitative and quantitative targets. She/he performs specific tasks aimed to support development and implementation of financial operations at various stages of the operation cycle within the Department’s area of responsibilities and is actively involved in the implementation of the Divisional/Departmental strategy and Work Plan.

DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Business Management Accountabilities:
* Participates and contributes to the banking team activities;
* Supports the coordination and delivery of the BSTDB’s strategy and related work program;
* Is actively involved in the identification and development of new activities in the countries of the BSTDB’s operations;
* Originates, screens structure and negotiates loan/ equity/ guarantee transactions in both private and public sectors;
* Contributes to project identification and generation; identifies, reviews and screens investments proposals;
* Processes projects in accordance with the BSTDB’s operation cycle; contributes to financial, technical, legal and environmental due diligence and preparation of project documentation;
* Participates in the preparation of documents related to projects for the Credit Committee and the Board of Directors;
* Monitors/supervises BSTDB’s investments;
* Prepares reports based on meetings with clients, site visits, financial review and other research;
* Develops new or proposed amendments to internal procedures to reflect the new products and needs of the countries of operation;
* Contributes to the development and update of relevant guidelines and procedures;
* Participates in preparation of business plans, budgets and internal procedures.

Relationship Management Accountabilities (Internal and External):
* Participates in internal working groups;
* Works closely with BSTDB support units and other related parties as required;
* Liaises with clients, sponsors, multilateral agencies, financial institutions, commercial banks, non-bank financial institutions, development banks, governmental and local authorities and other counterparties;
* Maintains contacts with local business community and officials to support the marketing initiatives of the BSTDB in the members states;
* Participates in the promotion of the BSTDB activities.

Undertakes other relevant tasks that may be assigned by the Director, Energy & Infrastructure and as may be required by the policies of the BSTDB.

SELECTION CRITERIA
* University degree, preferably at the postgraduate level in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related field.
* Minimum five, preferably eight years of experience in the energy and/or infrastructure sectors with at least two-three years of experience in corporate/project finance or structured finance in a department of a major international investment/merchant house or commercial bank or development financial institution or an international corporation.
* Relevant experience in structuring credit, equity and guarantee transactions including legal documentation in both public and private sector projects.
* Experience in identifying, evaluating, structuring and negotiating loan and investment transactions with industrial clients.
* Very good understanding and application of the project cycle, including understanding of project design, analysis, due diligence, implementation and monitoring as well as preparation of operation documentation.
* Understanding of international financial reporting standards and banking regulations in the countries of operations.
* Solid knowledge, skills and ability to extract, interpret, analyze and format data across the full range of finance, accounting and budget functions.
* Analytical skills: ability to analyze macro-economic situation, sector and market trends, legal framework, other background information; report writing skills.
* Good knowledge of regional, political and economic development in the member countries.
* Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with clients and keeping them informed with assignments, meeting any timelines agreed with the clients.
* Results-oriented decision making abilities with an aptitude for developing practical solutions.
* Strong negotiation skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to successfully interact with a variety of people in a multicultural environment.
